Famine at Veranjà [1]

- Brahman, the enjoyment of identity, silence, incense, taste, exposure has been extinguished, no conditions arise in the future. Enjoy is the cause of infected babies.
- Mr. Gotama, I heard that Gotama teaches inaction (akiriyavada). Is it true ?
- Brahmin, Tathāgata do not act on the evil, the unwholesome of the body, the word, the mind.

- Sir Gotama, he is the One result Bhagavan, Supreme Career, Career wise leadership. I beg you to accept me as a lay disciple from now until the rest of my life, and I beg you and the saint to enter this year in my mango garden, and I will provide all necessary supplies.
The Buddha approved by silence. But Agnidatta is often busy with business, rarely at home. Meanwhile famine took place in Veranjà, during the retreat.
The mendicants lamented each other as food is getting increasingly rare. There are many masters go begging for empty bowl. You have to sit together to share the beggars. People say that this year's crop is out of harvest, the stockpile of the local government is running low, the government must issue food aid cards to the people. People do not have enough food to do what they have to offer. The number of 500 mendicant masters is too large for the population of the village.
Moggallana suggested moving to the village of Uttarakuru in the south to continue settling there, as there was no hunger there. Give newspaper :
- Do not do that, Moggallana. Is it hunger alone? All the villagers are hungry, except for the rich. If we go out of hunger and do not share difficulties, how can we understand the suffering of the people here? This Moggallana, we should stay here until the end of the season.

When should the precepts be issued? [2]
