Master Vangsias holds six bases [1]
Venerable Vangsi is renowned as a mendicant who is both a talented and talented in literature. He is very poetic soul in particular and artist in general. When he was ordained, he was allowed to study with his teacher, Venerable Nigrodhakappa. Two teachers live in a temple on the outskirts of Sàvatthi. After the death of Nigrodhakappa, he entered the Jetavana monastery. One day, Vangsi teacher confided to Master Ananda that his mind was not calm and asked Master Ananda to solve it. Asked, Ñnanda know that the artist soul, Vangios often feel vibration, in front of the beauty of the letters to the offerings at the monastery. Master Ananda said,
- Brother Vangsi, there are many alms-masters in the past had the same mood as he was taught by the World Buddha impure. Brothers should contemplate the beautiful body of a woman as a delicate leather bag filled with impurities inside such as blood, phlegm, phlegm, urine, soon to old age, sick , The body will decay, disintegration, nothing is beautiful anymore. While the Dharma, the Three Jewels are precious, noble, bring genuine happiness to everyone, then that is the beauty of the ceiling, pure, eternal.
"Moreover, this fraternity, the Buddha often reminded the mendicants to diligently practice the maintenance of the six , to keep the six bases are purified. Eyes should not stick, must know the color is impermanent, is suffering, is not, is not self, to give birth to boring, glasses, abandonment. For the ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind. The Blessed One said, " Mentors, eyes are a deep ocean, filled with sea monsters, swirling waters and dangerous underwater waves. If you do not go steadily in mindfulness, your karmic boat will be engulfed by sea creatures, swirling water and subterranean waves. Your ears, nose, tongue, body and mind are also deep oceans, filled with sea monsters ... "
"Brother Vangsi, I think that the impure and virtuous store of mind is the medicine that can heal the sickness of the" eye consciousness "of the fraternity.
Master Vangsi expressed his gratitude to the Venerable Ānanda, and from then on, he diligently practiced the impurity and maintained the six faculties. He made poems self-conscious as follows:
Was wearing a cocktail dress,
Lust pursuits
As buffalo remember people,
What a shame!
Son of the General
Excellent bowing skills
Thousands of troops shot from side to side
Still breaking the siege.
But now come
Why bother!
An abode in the Dharma
I decided to win this battle.
I followed the Blessed One
Sun lineage [2]
On the road to leisure
Our momentum full delivery.
Owned by six houses
We walk forward
Afflictions of immeasurable immeasurable
Can you shake me?
Master Vangsi is a smart person so easy to get into high mood. Once he whispered deliberately to other teachers, but thanks to the practice of mindfulness, he realized his bad character should do penance penance as follows:
Disciple Gotama,
Take off the pride!
This arrogant way
Only about suffering!
The arrogant covert
Also go to hell
What are these guys?
Look at life.
Study, see the way
The soul is peaceful
That joy is high
We must reach quickly.
Keep practicing mindfulness
Looking forward to tricks.
Kieu phase is finished
New success really.
After being told by the Venerable Ānanda, Vangsi has overcome many obstacles. He progressed very fast and was confirmed by the elder Sariputta. On the morning of the teacher brightens, he made the following poem:
The old days are poetic
I ride around everywhere
The market scene and the countryside
Fortunately met the Buddha.
The Blessed One has mercy
Teach me color
Listen to believe
Lay down the mendicant shirt.
An abode in the Dharma
Solid, one heart
This is proof
Kindness of consciousness.
Seeds of the sun
Exalted momentum sowing
Because beings are dark
The person opens the exit.
Four mysterious truths
The path of the eight paths
Peace and freedom
Words are wonderful.
The virtue was high
The quality of life is deft
Nibbana saves all species
Graceful teach people.
Master Sariputta, in a lecture for young mendicants, took the case of Vangsi teacher to set an example. Master said that in the early stages of learning, Vangsi also had feelings and weak emotions, but then, by virtue of learning the six dharma virtues, he overcame all afflictions and enlightenment. Be marvelous. Holding six bases is a very mysterious method to move forward on the path.
Where are the arguments and metaphysical questions? [3]
Venerable Isidattà, Avanti [4] , is a young but talented young mendicant . One day, the teacher and the nine elder seniors were invited to eat at the Citta layman's residence in Macchikasanda. Lay Citta is a devout, well-educated, well-educated, and well-liked layman Anāthapindika. He often invited high priests to come to the house to offer prayers [5] and to learn more about the teachings. After making offerings to the men, Sister Citta paid homage to the mendicants and asked for permission to sit down. He posed the following question:
- Bach Theravada monks, I have heard from the Brahmajâla (Brahma Net), in which the Buddha said about 62 of the arguments accepted contemporary cults. I have also heard metaphysical questions such as: The world is boundless or infinite, eternal or extinct; Soul and body are one or the other; After death, what is missing, ... Where do the verses and the metaphysical questions come from?
Before the question of the layman Citta, all the mendicants are silent. Citta repeats this question up to three times, and no mendicant answers. The young beggar Isidattà suddenly turned to the elders, saying,
- Venerable Bach, can you answer that question of the layman Citta?
- Brother, you can answer if you want.
Towards layman Citta, Isidatta said:
My dear fellow, I think, has these arguments and metaphysical questions because people are still entangled in ants. Once an ants are destroyed, people will no longer argue and wonder.
Lieutenant Citta appeared surprised and admirable. But he said:
- Great virtue please clarify more.
- Dear people, who are not close to the good knowledge, not learn the Enlightenment Dharma, often accept that this body is me, or this body is mine, or have me in this body, or This body is in me. He can accept that feeling is mine or mine. He could accept the idea that we or our [6] ... It is the people who are caught up in ego is. It is because of being entangled in an ant, because of accepting the true one, so that the attachment is this or this one is not this, we are in this or this in our ... So 62 births that the Buddha mentioned in the Brahmàjala (Pham Vong). Also because ego so was born the questions about finite or infinite, often or paragraph, or even lose, copper or the other, etc ... Hey brethren,
Citta is completely conquered by Isidatta. He respectfully asked:
- White virtue, where are you?
- Dear my country, in the Avanti.
- Venerable Sir, I heard at Avanti with a young man named Isidatta has ordained. It was a brilliant smart man. Does not the virtue know that person?
- Dear friends, I know.
- Great virtue, where is that mourner?
Venerable Isidattà silent. Layman Citta is intelligent, he knows right who is sitting in front of him Isidattà. He asked:
- Is the great virtue is the great virtue Isidatta it?
- Yes.
- So it's really precious and nice to tell me something. Madam Ethiopian Isidatta, we are looking forward to great veneration to visit us often. We make vows to offer great virtues all the virtue needed such as food, clothing, medicine and shelter.
Isidatta is silent. Then the mendicants farewell. Isidatta has no chance of returning to the Citta house anymore.
