RELIGION? 

Buddhism  is not a  religion  in the sense in which that word is commonly understood, because it is not "a  system  of belief  and  worship ,  based on  the  allegiance  to a supernatural being." 

Buddhism  does not require  believers to  believe  blindly . Here not only  believe empty, but  faith  should be  built on the  knowledge  ( reason ), which in Pali called saddhà. Who  believers  believe in  Buddha  is like a sick person in the prescription of  a doctor , or a student in his teacher. People  Buddhist refuge  in the Buddha because he was  enlightened  by the Dao  Liberation . 

Who  Buddhists  no  refuge in the Buddha  with the  hope that they will be saved by the  purity  of the  individual  him. Buddha  did not  give  anyone a  guarantee  like that. The power  of  the Buddha does not  kill  unless all are  sins  of others. No one can make others  pure or  defiled . 

The Buddha , like a teacher, teaches  us , but we are directly  responsible for  the actions that make us  pure . Although  Buddhists take  refuge in  the Buddha , they  do not accept  any form  of submission  . They also do not  sacrifice  the right to  freedom  of thought to  become  disciples  of Him. They can  perform  desire  freedom and development of  intellectual  Their  until  qualified  themselves  to attain Buddhahood . 

Point  basics  of  Buddhism  is the  understanding  according to  reason , or called by another noun, is Samma-Dithi ( Right ). 

For those who  seek the truth ,  the Buddha  taught: "Do not believe in what people say - for example, think that is what  we  have heard for a long time. Do not believe in tradition - (as though it has been passed down from generation  to generation ). Do not believe in  the word  gossip  - (like believing what people say but refused to  learn). Do not believe anything because it is recorded in the scriptures. Do not believe in the doctrine. Do not believe  that  inference . Do not believe in  anything, because it is reasonable. Do not believe in  what you have  preconceived  before. Do not believe anything just because it is  acceptable  - (think the spokesperson is  ethical , so their  words are worth listening to). Also, do not believe in anything because you think it's a  monk you  respect  (so their  words  are  acceptable ). 

 "But when you yourself  know  that - these things are  akusala , these things are  blameworthy  , these  sages  criticize ; these things, when performed and  implemented , leading to the destruction and  suffering  - then indeed you should not do. 

"When you know for yourself   that these things are good, these are not  blameworthy , and these things are praised by the  good faith  , which, when acted upon and  performed , will lead to happiness. ,  Happy  - then you should follow. " 

This sublime teachings of  the Buddha  are still  maintained  by  the performance and  elite basics  of it. Although  not approved  to receive  faith  blindly , and so  affordable without  worshiping  Buddha statues  etc .. in Buddhism? 

People  Buddhist  non  homage  before the statue to seek favors a  material  or  spiritual , but they to express  reverence  for  the Buddha  that  images  that  symbolize . 

A  Buddhist  understanding , in offering flowers and incense to an  image , they have  ideas  like standing in front of  the Buddha  was alive; so they get inspiration from His noble personality, and  absorbed  the profound  virtues  of compassion  boundless place of  Buddha . They  try to  follow  His  noble virtue . 

Bodhi tree  (Bodhi) is also a  symbol  of the  Enlightenment . The object  reveredoutside would not  absolutely  necessary , but very useful because they help  practitioners  get  centered . Who  intellectuals  ( mature ) from the need to  image them, because they can easily concentrate  thoughts  and  visualize  the Buddha . 

For the benefit  of ourselves, and  to express  our  gratitude ,  we  honor the  Buddha ; but what  the Buddha  expects from the  disciples , not the  slavish  which is the  practice  strictly  the teachings  of God. Buddha  taught: "The  veneration  Tathagata First, was the  practice of  the teachings of the  Tathagata  best," or "Those who see  the Dhamma  (Dhamma) is seen Tathagata". 

However , when referring to the statues, Count Kaiserling  noted , "I see in  this world , nothing greater than  the image  of  the Buddha . It is  the embodiment  of perfection  absolute  of  spirit  in  the world  visible ".

"
