CENTER ROAD NEAR DEATH (Maranasannacittavithi).
I. DEFINITIONS .
Maraṇāsanna  is the compound of  Maraṇa  is dead and  āsanna  is near.

II. MEANING OF DEATH.

Death  (cuti)  arises because of one of the four causes: due to  longevity (āyukhaya), kammakkhaya  due to karma  ,  both  due to karma and due to  upacchedakamma.

Āyukkhayena kammakkhayena ubhayakkhayena upacchedakkammunā ceti catudhā maraṇuppatti nāma.
Death has four causes: death, karma, killing and killing.

III- ANALYSIS.

1. Career (kammārammaṇa)

Gatinimitta  is the sign of the realm where the dying person will be born again.
